We watched as customers wandered through the front gate of this restaurant and the host's demeanor and approach changed with each person he greeted. People watching is great here; my favorite was when an older woman at the bookstore kept nasally refusing gift suggestions for her grandson, then finally sighed and (obviously as she'd been waiting to do the entire time) explained, "I don't mea-ahn to bra-ahg, but he's a bit of, well, he is a gee-nie-us. You see-ee, he puts together electrical circuits and things, and well, a buhterrfly may just insult him, though it would be fi-ine for his sister..." |
