La Jolla continued

When we woke up yesterday morning (around 6am), La Jolla was smothered in a deep haze of fog, which looked gorgeous dangling over the oceanfront.
We headed to The Cottage for breakfast, where we started off with a mocha (Felipe) and a latte for me.
We watched as customers wandered through the front gate of this restaurant and the host's demeanor and approach changed with each person he greeted. People watching is great here; my favorite was when an older woman at the bookstore kept nasally refusing gift suggestions for her grandson, then finally sighed and (obviously as she'd been waiting to do the entire time) explained, "I don't mea-ahn to bra-ahg, but he's a bit of, well, he is a gee-nie-us. You see-ee, he puts together electrical circuits and things, and well, a buhterrfly may just insult him, though it would be fi-ine for his sister..."
Fried egg sandwich (awesome!) and Eggs La Jolla (meh).
Felipe on the balcony
Lunch at Cody's: my BLT and mixed greens, not bad.
Felipe had their fish 'n' chips, which he enjoyed.
Next, we walked down to the beach for some seaside reading time.
And, of course, a bump shot.
We didn't want to leave out Felipe, so he got to pose similarly in the same spot.
He also got to read.
There was a wonderful breeze here.
I've been feeling pretty big these last few days since the baby decided it wouldn't go unnoticed anymore, but sitting here, I felt like a speck.
I love these purple flowers.
